Gattuso tackles Appiah

Legendary Ghanaian captain, Stephen Appiah, has singled out Italian hardman Gennaro Gattuso, as the toughest opponent of his footballing career.

He said the tough-tackling nature of the former Milan star was always a bother during the start of his professional career with Juventus.

”Gennara Gattuso is my most difficult opponent as a footballer," Appiah said in an interview on Starr FM.

"I met him first when I was playing for Udinese and Gattuso playing for Salernitana and he was too strong.

"I wanted to show him my African body and he was too strong even at that time,” Stephen Appiah stated.

Both players are currently retired with Gattuso a coach and Appiah now earning his coaching badges.
