Ghanaian youngster Gilbert Koomson says he is perturbed about his exclusion from Avram Grant’s 2017 Africa Cup of Nations squad.

The 22-year-old Norway-based player got his debut Black stars call up for the 2018 World Cup qualifier against Uganda in Tamale and was expecting to make it for the Afcon as well but Avram Grant’s provisional 26-man squad had no place for him.

Coach Grant named his final 23-man squad for the tournament on Wednesday with Koomson snubbed but he seems okay with the coach’s choice.

“Every coach has different technical eye and Grant believes this time around am not fit to be in his squad now, so I will work hard and am optimistic I will grab a call up next time” he told ATV.

Gilbert Koomson is however confident the squad paraded by Grant will make Ghana proud by winning the trophy.

“The squad called by has quality and I have no doubts that the team will make the country proud by bringing home the trophy” He added

Ghana will begin their Afcon 2017 campaign against Uganda on January 17 before taking on Mali and Egypt in group D.
