Ivory Coast forward Salomon Kalou believes Ghana can win AFCON 2017 in Gabon. The Black Stars of Ghana were in the finals in 2015 in Equatorial Guinea where they lost to the elephants of Cote D’ Voire on penalties.
According to the former Chelsea winger who now plays for Hertha Berlin in the Bundes Liga they biggest challenge for the Ivoirians in Gabon will be Ghana.
"Ghana will be our biggest threat. They always will be, they're our neighbours. We are cool with them but we have competition with them. It's fun to play against them. I think they will be in the semi-final,” he said.
Ivory Coast are in Group C together with Morocco, Togo and DR Congo and could set up a potential quarter-final game with Ghana who are in Group D.
The Africa Cup of Nations will begin on the 14th of January and end on February 6 in Gabon.
