EXCLUSIVE:Sporting CP in talks with Ghanaian midfielder Leslie Ablorh

Published on: 15 November 2016

Portuguese giants Sporting Lisbon have opened talks with Ghanaian midfielder Leslie Ablorh over a possible move in January.

The attacking midfielder has been on the radar of Thai club Nakhon Pathom United for the past four seasons but reports have been rife in the Phuket News, one of the biggest tabloid in Thailand that Sporting Lisbon officials have met the player representative and the club to discuss a possible January move.

Sporting will be hoping to seal the deal and secure the midfielder's signature as Anderlecht are also reportedly showing interest in signing the hardworking in a similar move they used to lure Frank Acheampong from Buriram United in 2013.

Ablorh, who is likened to former Real Madrid midfielder Fernando Redondo has been tipped to take the Estadio Jose Alvalade by storm when the deal goes through.

He is expected to be a direct replacement for William Carvalho who is set to depart to Inter Milan in January.

He captained Nakhon Pathom United in the season gone by and made 25 appearances, registering 8 goals and 11 assists to help the Tigers to a 12th place finish on the league log.
