Ace sports journalist and lawyer, Moses Foh Amoaning says this year’s Africa Cup of Nations trophy is the Black Stars’ to lose.

The Black Stars have been drawn in Group D alongside seven-time champions Egypt, Mali and minnows Uganda in the soon-to-start Africa Cup of the Nations.

After failing to clinch the coveted trophy for the past 35-years, Foh Amoaning believes the time has come for the team to stand up to the task when the competition kicks off on January 14th  in Gabon.

Speaking on Happy FM, Foh Amoaning said,” I think this year’s title is ours to lose because when you look at the countries that have won the trophy over the years like Nigeria and Ivory Coast, I believe we’re on the same level them.”

“It’s no coincidence that so many people have tipped us to win the cup, it’s because they know the quality we have in the side. More than eight players in our squad have tasted not less than two AFCON competitions before, therefore I think that experience alone should carry the team through this year.”

Ghana kick-start their tournament against the Cranes of Uganda at the Stade Port Gentil on januray 17th before taking on Mali and Egypt in the subsequent matches.
