Eric Ofori Antwi advised to leave Kotoko

Goalkeeping Coach of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Joe Baah Agyemang has encouraged maligned goalkeeper Eric Ofori Antwi to depart the club.

The former WAFA goalkeeper joined the Porcupine warriors in the 2013 season as the first choice from Amidaus Professionals, but after making just two appearances last season, Ofori Antwi has fallen down the pecking order behind Ernest Sowah and fellow ex-WAFA goalkeeper Felix Annan.

And after the player expressed desire to leave the club on countless times due to his current predicament, goalkeepers trainer of the club, Joe Agyeman has backed the player’s decision to leave the club.

Joe Agyemang told Adom Sports that, “The boy has endured a lot since joining the club and I think it’s about time he quits the club because he’s young and for someone of his age, he needs more playing time, which cannot be guaranteed at Kotoko.”

“Kotoko have three good goalkeepers and it’s not easy to keep all of them in the same team, and I don’t think there’s that many matches for all of them. I believe only two goalkeepers will be needed, however due to the cards and suspension that is bound to happen, that’s the reason why we use all the goalkeepers but I strongly believe it’s about time he goes. I will implore the management to grant him his wish because he has a future.”
