Alexis Sanchez Urges Arsenal to Sign Barcelona's Arda Turan

Alexis Sanchez believes Barcelona's Arda Turan would be a good signing for Arsenal and has urged Arsene Wenger to sign the attacking midfielder, according to Don Balon.

Turan was linked with a move to both the Gunners and Chelsea last summer before he moved to Barcelona but, things have not gone as planned for the ex-Atletico Madrid man since, with the La Liga champions rumoured to be open to selling their No.7.

The form of Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar meant Turan's opportunities were limited, along with the fact that he was only eligible to play from January because of Barcelona's transfer ban which prevented them from registering the 29-year-old until the new year.

Despite Turan's lacklustre performances in a Barcelona shirt, Sanchez reportedly remains a big admirer of the Turkey international and has urged Arsenal to sign him.

The potential arrival of Turan would be a significant boost to Arsenal's squad with Granit Xhaka and Rob Holding the club's only new additions so far this summer.

However, Arsenal's current priority in the transfer market is finding a new striker.

The club failed in their pursuit of Jamie Vardy ” who opted to extend his stay at Leicester by agreeing a new four-year deal with the Premier League champions ” and have since turned their attention to Italy as they continue their search for a centre-forward.

Wenger is rumoured to be interested in signing Napoli's Gonzalo Higuain ” although his €94m release clause is a huge stumbling block ” and Inter Milan's Mauro Icardi.
